Save water, save the world!

Earth may be the blue planet but only 3% of it is freshwater.

Facts.
  • Less than 1% of the water supply on earth is drinkable. If all the Earth's water is represented by a litre, only a teaspoon is available for us to use.
  • 1.1 billion people live without clean drinking water. Each day almost 10,000 children under the age of five in third world countries die as a result of illness contracted by use of impure water.
  • Asian rivers are the most polluted in the world, with 3 times as many bacteria from human waste as the global average and 20 times more lead than those from industrialised countries. Every day about 2 million tonnes of waste are dumped into rivers, lakes and streams.
